Pickled Mustard Greens (Chinese Style): HAAM CHOY In Southern China, though, the most common type of pickled vegetable is this version that we call haam choy. You may see it spelled ham choy, though it is pronounced, “hahm.” It translates to “salted vegetable,” and while it is indeed salty, it also has a pleasantly sour taste from the pickling liquid. Vietnamese dua cai chua is similar to this ...

Milkfish / Bangus with Tausi - fried-frozen fresh harvest
I have always used a knife but I will try the grater next time..😊
Sarap nyan manong. Yummy
True :-)
It's more itchy than prickly to me. The slime of the taro has the itch I think. I wear gloves when I handle them and I cook them extra longer and I soak them first for a day. I love them with coconut cream and ginger too but I have to take extra precautions preparing and cooking them. Thank you God bless you Maranatha
Thanks for the tips! I will do it again. Everyone enjoyed it.
Greetings everyone, Manang Grace is the test lab guinea pig🤣. If there isn't a next episode, I know what happened. It looks good though.
Great!❤
Ganda po ng mga roses nyo❤
Thank you.
New subscriber no po ako from Mabalacat City Pampanga.
Apir tayo!
City garden eto.
Thank you ulit for finding me. 🙂
There is a small secret to tenderize the beef...
Manang Grace kamusta na po kayo?
Wow sarap ❤❤❤
What type of oil do you like to use for cooking? Watching you cook is very relaxing, great video 👍
Ordinary cooking oil.
Sunflower oil is widely available at my location.
I love this video, the history, the humour and the view. Thank you for a delightful entertaining and educational experience. I like how you explained that it was live so no cutting board needed, I love the view, the simplicity and learning the culture. Thank you Looks delicious. GREAT VIDEO !! SO FUNNY TOO
Thank you very much.
Looks delicious👍. I made some pinakbet couple days ago. I went and harvest my vegetable in my favorite garden, Island Pacific Filipino Supermarket🤣🤣🤣
An airconditioned garden :-)
Nice garden Romulo👍. Beautiful flowers. I can taste the bitter melon leaves with bagoong salad or bitter melon fruit with eggs recipes! I wish the weather here is favorable for garden like yours. Its been so hot here (100 + degrees) since the beginning of July.
I had Beef con ampalaya today, very first harvest, Fulfilled!!
@@RomulosKitchenandGarden 👍
Looks grandeus! For the beauty of the earth is in your hands!
Thank you to you. It reminds me of you of my lola on father side. She use to cooked that Inangit ilocano probinsya version.
A very simple recipe. I used to hate it when I was a kid due ti its simplicity. But as I get older my preference goes to the simpler things in life. Thanks for visiting.
The garden is doing well👍👌
Sir i like that ilokano style pinakbert.......kaya lang to much daldal less cooking, happy cooking god bless.
Daldal channel eto:-)
Vinegar! Why? The fermentation will produce sourness so there is no need for it. The preparation of pickle mustard green traditionally/authentically would never call for vinegar anyway
Vinegar in any preparation extends the shelf life that is why.
Nice video, I learned a lot. It would help with your presentation if you looked into the camera directly more and blinked less. :)
Thanks for the tip, blinking is invountarily, I try.
Looks like quick and yum recipe👍
It was! it can be dull to the Ilocano taste for lack of vinegar of lemon. Kinilaw, Ceviche next time.
Can you do this procedure to an old grown papaya tree? Must try I got one full of flowers. Thanks
It is essentially stressing the tree. Statistically, regardless of the age, very very low chances. Just try it. Share the result, please.
Romulo's trick of the trade!
It works that is why shared:-)
@@RomulosKitchenandGarden Thanks for sharing. I was going to try it but when I checked the price of an octopus here the other day, its $14.00/lb. Maybe next time.
👍🏼
It won't be long you will be harvesting fresh vegetable and cooking them in the kitchen. Some of the mustard leaves can be pick now to make a meal. Check online for recipes.
Thanks for the encouragement, Ben. We just has mustard salad yesterday. Stay healthy!!
very nice garden 🤩
Ganda na manong di tulad nung nagpunta kami dyan hehehhehe
Dalaw kayo uli
Dalaw kayo uli
👍👍👍👍👍
Good teacher. Explained well.
Yes, I was an intructor, thank you:-)
Pls show what you did. Why did you shift the focus if the camera to the leaves and flowers ? What we want to see is what you did to the trunk.. partly I saw you cut it...did you cut it completely or just bore a hole?
Just bored 4 holes to stress the plant.
Greetings! Romulo, Is this same recipe as BINULBOL in Ilocano? Nice garden kitchen.
Binulbol is Pangasinan :-) Tambo-tambong for Ilocano.
@@MyBarrioMyMundo I used to live in Luna, La Union which is close to Ilocos Sur and we call it binulbol
Aloha and Mahalo from Hawaii❤
Cablaaw!
It's easy enough👍
You can also find Crisco by block and it is already marked how much cup or tbsp is so you don’t need to use a measuring cup. Just a tthought.
Much easier, true.
Nice. My grandma used to make this growing up in Pinas. Romulo, what is the shelf life of the yeast balls you are using?
They are usable even after two years from purchase.
Wow fresh air too, love your place daddy☺️
Great tour thank you!
You bet!
Is that milk u froze Sir😊?
yes, full cream milk :-)
It's a serving spoon here in the Philippines
Super imas na ata ... yum yum yum
Maycan ading ko.
Ganda naman ng garden mo Sir Mulong
Nice. Looks like the garden is ready to take off for the warmer👍. Here in the US, if you bought a plant or a tree from a reputable home improvement center (Home Depot or Lowe's) and dies, you can take it back to the center and trade it for another plant or get your money back. Most plants is returnable for 90 days but perennials, trees, roses, and shrubs gets extended 1-year window in Home Depot. Romulo, are you renting the garden space? They have a gardener club here also where you can rent a garden space.
This is an allotment, yes I am renting this. I moved last year to have a forest as a backdrop. :-)
👍. Now BBQ a steak to go with it.
No, going Vegan :-)
Looks good👍!
